Slainte, Ireland's health magazine
Sl?inte is Ireland?s highest-readership and longest-established consumer health magazine. First published back in 1996, we are committed to offering our readers interesting, relevant and easy-to-read information about the sort of health, nutrition and wellbeing topics that affect them and their families every day. We show how, with just a little effort, everyone can enjoy the benefits of a healthy
body and mind.
Every quarterly issue of Sl?inte looks at a wide range of health topics that are relevant to the whole family ? from what?s best for babies to the problems of old age. For example, recent topics in each ?section?
of the magazine have included:
Boost your chances of getting pregnant; Understanding thrush; Get a beach-ready body; Understanding pre-eclampsia; Retake control of your hormones; Contraception, your lifetime options; Why every woman should be breast-aware.
How to be a great parent; 7 fun ways to get your kids fit; How
much should your child be eating?; Bedwetting ? a practical guide
for parents; Dealing with picky eaters.
Food & Nutrition
Cook yourself thin; The difference between good and bad fats; Delicious, healthy recipes; Fresh ideas for your ?5-a-day?; Do you
have a food intolerance?; What to eat to boost your immunity.
Asthma, how to survive the summer; Are you at risk of a stroke?; Don?t let hayfever get you down; Learn to live with diabetes; Testicular cancer ? the facts; Osteoporosis, the silent epidemic.
The secrets of fresher breath; Tooth whitening explained; Learn the perfect brushing technique; Plaque, your mouth?s invisible enemy.
As Ireland?s leading consumer health magazine, Sl?inte is dedicated to providing essential health information to as wide an audience as possible. As a result, as well as being on general sale in newsagents throughout Ireland, each quarterly issue currently reaches between 350,000 and 400,000 extra readers through GP surgeries.
Sl?inte was launched in 1996 to provide accessible editorial articles based on the Department of Health & Children?s 1994 health manifesto ?Shaping A Healthier Future?, which aimed to set down a blueprint to improve all areas of the nation?s health ? in particular in the areas of Nutrition, Women?s Health, Children?s Health, Preventative Health, Dental Care, Heart Health, Accident Prevention, and Health in the Over-50s.
So in each issue, our dedicated team provides fascinating, easy-to-read articles about current health topics, along with reports about recent health developments and products, motivating ideas and suggestions, delicious and healthy recipes, and much more.
And we regularly ask leading experts to contribute their knowledge and wisdom by writing for Sl?inte. Recent contributors include:
