Every year, World Fly-Casting Champion Glenda Powell hosts an Introduction to Fly-fishing Day exclusively for ladies.
This year, it's being held on Sunday, May 30th. on the Cork Blackwater, near Upper Ballyduff, in conjunction with the Southern Regional Fisheries Board
as part of the National Fisheries Awareness Week.
It's fun to Fish
As always, it'll be a fun day starting in the Blackwater Lodge at 10.00am with tea, coffee & chat.
The it's off to the river in your own vehicle. The day will concentrate on Kilmurry beat where Glenda and her team of helpers
will demonstrate casting and open your eyes to the fun & beauty of fly-fishing, answering any queries as she goes along.

Everything will stop for a BBQ lunch on the river bank, and the afternoon will be spent fishing under the supervision
of Glenda & her team. The fun ends at 5.00pm.
The day is free, but you are welcome to make a contribution to Action Breast Cancer if you wish. To get real value from the day, numbers have to be limited and so places will be allocated on a strictly first-come first-served basis.
To reserve a place, contact Glenda on 058-60235 or 087-2351260. Or email glenda@ireland-salmon-fishing.net for further information or bookings.
And remember, do bring a cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, wellies or waders & your own choice of beverage for the BBQ.

It could be the start of something really new!

Glenda gave a talk and demonstration to about 20 ladies on the river bank,
and then she & her team of helpers got everybody fly-casting .

After a BBQ lunch on the river bank, the afternoon was spent trout fishing
under the supervision of Glenda & her team.

Catching even a small trout gave some of the ladies immense enjoyment.

And the girls too…………….!

The day was free, but all the participants were invited to make a
voluntary contribution to Action Breast Cancer if they wished.
Between the contributions of the participants and the generosity of Cappoquin Angling Club
who supported us with a donation of €100
