The Ulster Automobile Club announced on the 17th December that the traditional Easter Weekend Circuit of Ireland Rally will take place starting on 21st March and finishing on 23rd March. This year's event is returning to Newcastle, County Down with the glorious backdrop of the Mountains of Mourne.
The event will consist of three categories with the International event, a round of the Global Group Tarmac Rally Championship, starting on Good Friday and the Historic and National events taking place on Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday. These events will
be counting rounds of the Global Group National and Historic Championships and the Pacenotes MSA Northern Ireland Rally Championship. A round of the Fiesta Sporting Trophy Ireland will also be included during the course of the weekend.
Clerk of the Course Nigel Hughes stated that the format for the event will again be repeated stages, with servicing restricted to a single centralised location, thereby minimising costs and making the rally very appealing to competitors?. Regulations for
the events will be issued sometime this month.
