Many of Ireland's leading pipe bands will be heading to Glasgow on Saturday 16th August for the World Pipe Band Championships which take place at Glasgow Green. The Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band was formed by a group of youths, mostly farmers' sons, who congregated in a corrugated-iron, lean-to garage on the farm of Fred Scott in 1945. http://www.fmmpb.com

The St. Laurence O'Toole Pipe Band was formed In 1910 at a meeting which was organised by the St. Laurence O'Toole Gaelic Athletic Association Club in the CBS School, Seville Place, Dublin. http://www.slotpb.com
