Gigs: Oxjam - the October Festival for Oxfam

Calling all music lovers! Now is the time for you to start planning for Oxjam which is an inspiring and unique DIY music festival with a difference.

For the whole month of October, Oxjam is all about making music, raising money and helping to end poverty. However, as it can take up to two months for gigs to be set up, Oxfam Ireland is choosing now as the time to ask bands, DJs, promoters, street buskers, choirs, music teachers and just plain old music fans to organise all kinds of music events and donate the proceeds to Oxfam. Everyone can play a part, so whatever you’re into –
from classical to club nights, folk to funk – get involved now.

There’s no limit to how big or small the events can be – whether you plan to hire a band, arrange a choir or orchestral concert in your school, organise a music evening in your local pub or hold a karaoke night in your back garden, it’ll add up to one huge, Ireland-wide Oxjam festival.

For all the advice you need to get your music event up and running, why not contact oxjam [at] oxfamireland.org, lo-call 1890 60 60 65 (ROI) or 0845 30 30 337 (NI) or check out http://www.oxfamireland.org/oxjam to download your toolkit.
